A community of faith

We gather as friends to grow more deeply in faith, to educate our children in the Good News of a loving Savior, and to worship an Almighty God.

Steeped in History

Our congregation began in 1697 in the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow, made famous by Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." We worship there on summer Sundays.

Come as you are

People from many different traditions have a spiritual home in the Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns. We come together before God and one another just as we are.

  • Christmas Pageant December 16

Middle Schooler, Jack, has selected and adapted a Christmas Pageant for our Sunday School.  Thank you, Jack!  Parts have been assigned and main speakers will begin rehearsing Nov. 11.  The adult choir will be helping with the music. Full cast rehearsal begins Nov. 25 during the Sunday School hour.  The Christmas Pageant is scheduled for the December 16th worship.  At that time there will be visiting guests as well.  The children of the church's after school program, TarryTune Kids, will be joining us in worship to sing songs!  If you want to be in the pageant please attend the rehearsals.  If you want to help Jack with props and set, just text him.

  • Sat. Nov. 17 Thanksgiving Run

For the past three years, the church bought Thanksgiving dinner items for families.  The Middle Schoolers are sent shopping for the items at Stop 'n Shop in Ossining.  The kids team up.  The shopping is a contest to see which team can spend closest to the budget given to them.  For example, each team is budgeted $150.  The team that comes closest to spending, but not over, the $150 wins a prize.  No calculators are allowed. Do your math!  Nick and Nathan shopped last year and are challenging the Middle Schoolers to shop this year on Saturday, November 17 in the morning.  Exact time will be announced later.  We meet at the Clock Church parking lot.

Old Dutch Church Is Now Wheelchair Accessible

Pictured above is the new entrance to the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow. The renovation work was completed last spring. A new stairway  with an enlarged platform at the top has replaced the former uneven steps up to the church door. The church is easily accessible via a wheelchair ramp, which connects to paved paths through the Burying Ground and also to a sidewalk from the parking area.
